Asset Management

We’re real estate experts. Akkord always seeks to drive and enhance asset performance through the entire life cycle of the investment by leveraging our deep operating experience. Our core real estate capabilities include leasing, financing, development, design and construction, and property and facilities management.

We also add value to investments through hands-on asset management, including ongoing operational and expense optimisation in order to drive net operating Income; proactive management of tenancies, with strong attention to rental income; lease expirations, and renewals; and the physical repositioning and enhancement of assets. We do all of the above by assembling bespoke asset management teams that execute strategies and stay alongside our partners’ throughout the entire journey.

We always take decisive action to protect the interests of our clients, address their challenges, and support them in their objectives. We work directly with lenders who anticipate debt covenant breaches or already have defaulted loans.

We also actively work to take possession and operational control of distressed assets across all sectors, structure asset management plans, manage existing tenant relationships and other stakeholder interests, and manage sale processes in order to maximise pricing and loan recovery.

We are passionate about sustainability. Integrating it into our investment and asset management process is critical to enhancing property values. As such, we devise sustainability frameworks that encompass the investment’s lifecycle —from acquisition and asset management, through to disposal. These frameworks include the repositioning of existing assets, in order to improve their environmental and social performance.

Any robust sustainability management system needs to clearly define and understand the inherent risks and opportunities. Through consultation with clients, Akkord always establishes the ESG objective of an asset, before incorporating ESG risk mitigation measures into its investment and management processes.
